Key points

  • Bimatoprost must be used consistently because raised eye pressure often causes no warning symptoms.
  • Eye colour, eyelid skin and eyelash growth can change, sometimes permanently.
  • Sudden vision loss, severe eye pain or marked redness with light sensitivity needs urgent eye assessment.

Listings are for comparison only. Suitability and supply depend on clinician and pharmacy checks, stock, destination rules and prescription requirements.

What Bimatoprost is used for

It may be used alone or with other pressure-lowering drops for open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension. Cosmetic eyelash products and glaucoma preparations may have different instructions and should not be substituted.

How it works

Bimatoprost increases outflow of aqueous fluid from the eye, reducing intraocular pressure.

Important safety checks

Eye inflammation, previous eye surgery, macular problems, pregnancy and other eye drops require review. Remove contact lenses as directed, avoid touching the bottle tip and use the prescribed eye only. Regular pressure and optic-nerve checks remain necessary.

When to seek urgent care

Seek urgent eye care for sudden or rapidly worsening vision, severe eye pain, marked redness with light sensitivity, new flashing lights or a curtain-like shadow, trauma or chemical exposure.
