How Ordering Works
SGMeds is designed to make the steps before checkout clearer: find the medicine, check the active ingredient, choose the right strength and pack, then continue to the available pharmacy-partner order path.
The site is built for Singapore and Malaysia users, but the same rule applies everywhere: do not treat a product listing as medical advice. If suitability is uncertain, ask a qualified doctor or pharmacist before ordering.
1. Start from search, product groups or popular medicines
You can begin from:
- the medicine search
- the popular medicines section
- treatment categories
- active-ingredient pages
- brand or generic pages
- practical guides
If you know only a brand name, check the active ingredient before comparing alternatives. Brand names can vary by country, while the ingredient name is usually the safer comparison point.
2. Read the product page before choosing
Before adding a medicine to the cart, check:
- product name
- active ingredient
- strength
- dosage form
- pack size
- manufacturer, where shown
- related brand or generic options
- price and currency display
- any notes about ordering, prescription status or safety context
Do not assume that two products are interchangeable because they appear in the same category. Strength, release form, route of administration and patient factors can matter.
3. Compare brand and generic options carefully
Many SGMeds pages show both branded and generic medicines.
A generic may contain the same active ingredient as a branded medicine, but practical details can still differ, including manufacturer, inactive ingredients, tablet appearance, pack size, country of supply and available strengths.
If you have been prescribed a specific brand, have had a reaction to an inactive ingredient, or are treating a condition that requires close monitoring, confirm any switch with a doctor or pharmacist.
4. Add the selected pack to the cart
After selecting the medicine, strength and pack size, add it to the cart and review the order summary.
The cart may show checkout information such as payment options, shipping eligibility, discounts or delivery-related notes. These details can change by site configuration, destination, medicine, pharmacy partner and payment provider.
The cart is not final approval. Supply may still depend on pharmacy review, prescription requirements, stock, destination rules and payment checks.
5. Continue to checkout
Checkout collects the information needed to process the order.
Depending on the product and destination, the pharmacy partner or checkout provider may ask for:
- name and contact details
- delivery address
- payment details
- prescription information, where required
- additional confirmation for certain medicines
- support information if the order needs review
Provide accurate information. False, incomplete or inconsistent details can delay or prevent fulfilment.
6. Pharmacy-partner review and fulfilment
SGMeds runs the website and ordering interface. Pharmacy partners handle dispensing, fulfilment and professional checks where required.
An order may be accepted, delayed, changed, cancelled or refused if:
- the medicine cannot be supplied to the destination
- the requested product is out of stock
- prescription or pharmacist review is required
- the order raises safety, fraud or compliance concerns
- payment or delivery information cannot be confirmed
- local rules prevent supply
This is normal for medicine ordering. A product page or cart entry is not a guarantee of supply.
7. Shipping, tracking and packaging
Available delivery methods and costs are shown during checkout or in the cart where configured.
Delivery estimates are planning guides, not guarantees. Customs checks, courier delays, public holidays, destination rules, pharmacy review and address issues can all affect timing.
Parcels are normally prepared in neutral packaging so the outside does not advertise the contents. Larger orders may be split into separate parcels for fulfilment, safety or delivery reasons.
Order early enough that a delay does not leave you without medicine.
8. Payment
Available payment methods are shown at checkout and may include card or selected digital-payment options depending on provider availability and order details.
Payment processing may be handled by an external payment gateway. Banks, card providers, crypto networks or payment processors may apply their own checks, fees, exchange rates or restrictions.
Do not complete payment unless the product, strength, pack size, delivery address and total amount are correct.
9. Cancellations, delivery problems and returns
If you need to cancel, contact support quickly through live chat or the customer portal. Cancellation is usually only possible before the parcel has shipped or before fulfilment has progressed too far.
Medicines generally cannot be returned for change of mind after dispatch because they cannot be safely restocked or resold once they leave the dispensing route.
If an order is damaged, incorrect, missing or delayed beyond the relevant support window, use live chat or the customer portal so the order can be checked against fulfilment and delivery records.
Before you order
Use this checklist before checkout:
- I checked the active ingredient, not only the brand name.
- I checked the strength and dosage form.
- I selected the intended pack size.
- I understand whether professional review or prescription information may be needed.
- I know delivery estimates can change.
- I have enough current supply to allow for delay.
- I asked a doctor or pharmacist if suitability is uncertain.
When not to use SGMeds as your main source
Do not use SGMeds as the only basis for a medicine decision if you have urgent symptoms, a new diagnosis, worsening symptoms, pregnancy, breastfeeding, severe allergy history, complex chronic disease, multiple interacting medicines, or a child needing treatment.
In those cases, get professional medical advice first. SGMeds can help with product information, but it cannot replace clinical judgement.
