Frequently Asked Questions
The short answers to what people ask before and after ordering. The full detail is on How ordering works, and order help is on Contacts.
Ordering and prescriptions
Do I need a prescription to order medicines in Singapore?
No. SGMeds does not ask for a prescription or a medical questionnaire. We run the catalogue and the ordering, and our pharmacy partner prepares your order and arranges delivery on your behalf. As an adult, you choose what to order.
Can I buy medicines over the counter online in Singapore?
Yes, online. Choose the medicine, strength and pack, add it to your cart and check out, much as you would over the counter, and we deliver it to your address in Singapore.
What is SGMeds?
SGMeds is an online medicine store for Singapore and Malaysia. We provide the catalogue, the comparison pages and the cart, while pharmacy partners handle dispensing, payment routing, fulfilment and delivery.
How do I order medicines online from SGMeds?
Look up a brand or active ingredient with medicine search, or browse by category, ingredient or condition. Choose the strength and pack, add it to your cart, then check the delivery option, currency and total before you pay. How ordering works has each step.
Brands and generics
Will I receive the brand or a generic?
Usually a generic. When a listing uses an original brand name such as Viagra to identify the medicine, you receive a generic with the same active ingredient at the same dose, usually a recognised Indian branded generic. The exact brand supplied depends on stock, and the product page's "What you will receive" note explains it.
Why does the same medicine have different names in Singapore and Malaysia?
The same active ingredient is sold under different brand names in different countries and by different makers. Search by the active ingredient to see every product that contains it, then compare the strength, dosage form and pack size.
Delivery to Singapore and Malaysia
Do you deliver to Singapore and Malaysia?
Yes. We deliver to addresses in Singapore and Malaysia, and to the other destinations offered at checkout, which confirms the delivery method and charge for your address.
How long does delivery to Singapore take?
Regular shipping takes up to 3 weeks and Express shipping up to 1 week. These are estimates, not guaranteed dates: customs checks, courier delays and public holidays can add time, so order before your current supply runs low.
How much does delivery cost?
Regular shipping is US$15, and free on orders over US$200. Express shipping is US$30, with no free-delivery threshold. The threshold is counted in US dollars, even when you browse in Singapore dollars or ringgit.
Can I track my parcel?
Express shipping includes parcel tracking where available, and Regular shipping is not tracked. Once you have ordered, follow your order's status in the customer portal.
Is the packaging discreet?
Yes. Discreet, neutral packaging is included at no extra charge, so the outside does not advertise the contents. Required shipping and customs information may still appear on the parcel, and larger orders may arrive in separate parcels on different days.
What if my parcel does not arrive?
Delivery insurance is included. It covers tracked parcels that tracking shows were not delivered and, if you are a returning customer, untracked Regular shipping as well. Contact support, and a replacement is sent at no cost where possible. If a second delivery is not possible, the order is refunded after review.
Can customs hold my parcel?
Customs checks can delay a parcel, and the packaging does not remove import or declaration requirements. The Health Sciences Authority (HSA) sets Singapore's rules on medicines brought in for personal use; our guide to bringing medicines into Singapore explains what it checks. If a parcel is held, contact support with your order details.
Payment and prices
Are prices in Singapore dollars?
Prices are set in US dollars. Singapore dollar, ringgit and other currency prices are converted estimates, and the exchange rate can change the final amount, so check the currency and total at checkout.
How much do medicines cost?
Each product page lists the price of every strength and pack size, and larger packs usually cost less per tablet. Delivery is added at checkout, where the final total is shown before you pay.
How can I pay?
By Visa, MasterCard or American Express card, or with Bitcoin (BTC) or Ethereum (ETH), subject to availability at checkout. Card payments go through external payment gateways.
Are there any discounts?
Paying with Bitcoin or Ethereum gives you an extra 10% off, and returning customers get 10% off later orders. Checkout shows the discounts that apply and the final total.
Cancellations and returns
Can I cancel my order?
Yes, if you contact support through live chat or the customer portal within 24 hours of ordering and before the parcel ships. Once it has left the dispensing facility it can no longer be cancelled.
Can I return a medicine?
Medicines cannot be returned for a change of mind. If an order arrives damaged, defective or incorrect, tell support within 30 days, or 14 days for temperature-sensitive items, and the order is checked against its fulfilment and delivery records.
Using your medicine
Can SGMeds give me medical advice?
No. Our pages are general information to help you compare medicines and do not replace a doctor or pharmacist. For questions about a dose, a side effect, an interaction or whether a medicine suits you, speak to a doctor or pharmacist.
