Desonide
Desonide is a low-potency topical corticosteroid used to reduce inflammation and itching in selected skin conditions. It can mask infection and should not be used on an undiagnosed rash.

How it works
Desonide activates corticosteroid receptors in skin cells, reducing inflammatory signals, redness and itching.
Important safety checks
Skin infection, acne, rosacea, pregnancy and other topical steroids require review. Use on thin skin or under an occlusive dressing can increase absorption. Prolonged use can thin skin and rarely suppress adrenal function.
