The listings below are not a universal eczema regimen; diagnosis, extent, body site and infection risk affect suitability.
Apply emollient frequently and after washing, and avoid products that reliably sting or trigger flares. Heat, sweat, rough fabric and detergents affect some people, but broad food restriction without a confirmed link can cause nutritional harm. Managing itch and sleep is part of disease control.
Topical corticosteroids are selected by potency and location; appropriate courses can prevent the harm of prolonged uncontrolled inflammation. Calcineurin inhibitors may suit sensitive sites or steroid-sparing plans. Widespread or refractory eczema may need phototherapy or systemic specialist treatment.
Seek prompt care for fever with rapidly spreading redness, painful skin or pus. Urgent same-day assessment is needed for clusters of painful blisters, eye involvement, widespread peeling or marked systemic illness.

Understand how moisturisers, topical steroids and calcineurin inhibitors differ, and why body site, potency and diagnosis affect eczema treatment.
