Key points

  • Clomifene is used when ovulation problems are an appropriate cause of infertility; it does not address blocked tubes or every fertility factor.
  • Treatment can increase multiple-pregnancy risk and can enlarge the ovaries.
  • Blurred vision, flashes or other visual disturbance requires stopping activities such as driving and urgent treatment review.

Listings are for comparison only; suitability and supply depend on fertility assessment, pregnancy exclusion, prescription and pharmacy checks.

How it works

Clomifene changes oestrogen feedback at the hypothalamus and pituitary, increasing signals that can trigger follicle development and ovulation.

Important safety checks

Review pregnancy, unexplained uterine bleeding, ovarian cysts, liver disease, thyroid or adrenal disorders and other infertility factors. Use outside licensed fertility indications, including post-cycle therapy, needs specialist scrutiny and is not endorsed by a listing.

When to seek urgent care

Seek urgent help for severe pelvic or abdominal pain, rapid abdominal swelling, breathing difficulty, fainting, heavy bleeding or sudden visual symptoms.
