Key points

  • Bilastine treats allergy symptoms but does not replace emergency treatment for anaphylaxis.
  • Food and fruit juice can reduce absorption, and kidney problems can make some interactions more important.
  • Throat swelling, breathing difficulty, fainting or rapidly worsening widespread hives needs emergency care.

Listings are for comparison only. Suitability and supply depend on clinician and pharmacy checks, stock, destination rules and prescription requirements.

How it works

Bilastine blocks peripheral histamine H1 receptors, reducing histamine-driven allergy symptoms.

Important safety checks

Follow the product instructions about food and fruit juice. Kidney impairment and medicines that affect transport proteins require review. Avoid driving until individual alertness is known, and do not rely on bilastine to manage a severe systemic allergic reaction.

When to seek urgent care

Use the prescribed emergency plan and seek emergency help for tongue or throat swelling, breathing difficulty, wheezing, fainting, confusion or rapidly worsening widespread hives with systemic symptoms.
